The comparative pedagogy as one of the main pedagogical disciplines examines pedagogical phenomena and facts, school systems and at the same time compares their similarities and differences in two or more countries. It answers the question of where education is heading in the world and by what methods today education systems are objectively compared. Based on analyzes, it offers an evaluation of the state of Czech education in comparison with educational systems abroad. Aims: The student has to understand the subject and methods of comparative pedagogy and is able to critically assess our school system through comparison on the basis of knowledge of development trends in our country and in the world. Content definition: 1. Comparative pedagogy as a scientific discipline. 2. Subject, methods, functions of comparative pedagogy. 3. Development of comparative pedagogy. 4. Analysis of educational systems abroad 5. Typology of school systems. 6. World and European trends in education., Globalization 7. Comparison in the field of education management. 8. Analysis of the Czech educational system in terms of world trends (comparison according to individual school levels). 9. International comparison of educational results of pupils and students. 10. School reforms abroad.
