Comparative pedagogy is a part pedagogical science. It studies pedagogical phenomena and facts and at the same time compares their conformities and differences in two or more countries. It is aiming at finding valid generalization and at improving the education in its own country.

The student should understand the subject and the methods of comparative pedagogy and to learn how to search and utilize both home and foreign knowledge concerning the educational systems and pedagogical problems in other countries and to assess critically our school system based on the knowledge of developmental trends both in this country and in the world.
