The sociology of education is a borderline discipline on the border between sociology and pedagogy. This course deals with topics from the definition of this discipline through the paradigms of sociology to specific problems of sociology of education such as globalization, gender issues, the relationship between education and social structure of society, the function of education and school, etc. The aim of the course is to point to current sociological topics in connection with education, to connect knowledge of sociology and pedagogy, especially in areas related to the educational process and institutions. 1. Definition of sociology of education (sociology, definition and topics of SV, outline of development). 2. Sociological approaches in the sociology of education (functionalist, interactionist, conflict). 3. The relationship between society, upbringing and education, educational mobility. 4. Functions of education in society. 5. Education in relation to human socialization. 6. Social group. 7. Social and pedagogical communication. 8. School status and roles. 9. School as an organization or bureaucratic institution. 10. Equal opportunities in education, training and life.
