The course introduces the basic terminology in the field of environmental education, clarifies the interrelationships, introduces the issue of environmental change over time, global issues, the importance of consumer education. It also focuses on pedagogical aspects of environmental education and its use in school and extracurricular practice. The aim of the course is to acquaint students with basic terminology, to draw attention to the interconnectedness of the life of an individual and society with environmental issues. Another goal is to clarify the position, content, methods and importance of environmental education in pedagogical practice. 1. Basic ecological and environmental concepts and their context. 2. Development of man's relationship to nature and the environment. 3. Global issues. 4. Relationships between economic development and the environment; basic principles of sustainable development; tools of sustainable development, consumer education. 5. The state and problems of the environment in the Czech Republic, region and place. 6. Environmental education - meaning, development, concept, goals; didactic aspects of environmental education. 7. Basic methods, forms and means of environmental education in school and out-of-school area.
