The seminar introduces students to English electronic corpora. It focuses on corpus linguistics as a method: the students explore corpora of present-day English, learn to formulate queries and interpret the results (e.g. collocations, keywords, sociolinguistic data).

4.Types of corpora (written and spoken English, academic language, learner corpora, translation corpora, regional varieties of English)
