Today’s classroom is a crossroad, where learners from various cultures and different abilities meet. This course will develop students` competences to deal with various differences inside the classroom and make the most out of cultural diversity. In the first part of the course, we will discuss the definition of mixed ability classes in the 21st century and the common challenges teachers are facing when teaching a diverse class. Further, we will focus on differentiated instructions with special focus on language scaffolding. Finally, we will have a closer look to intercultural competences and how to develop them at children.
