The students develop their communicative competence, specifically through improving accuracy and fluency in speaking, expanding vocabulary (e.g. phrasal verbs and idiomatic expressions), practicing grammar, pronunciation, writing, reading and listening.

Course completion requirements -

1. Attendance: no more than two missed classes

2. Active participation, completing all assignments

3. A written grammar and vocabulary test

4. Prepared talk: Students draw one of nine topics (known in advance, all based on topics discussed in seminars), minimum lenght is 3 minutes. The performance is assessed in the area of accuracy (max. 5 points), fluency (max. 5 points), vocabulary (max. 5 points), and pronunciation (max. 5 points). The total number of points necessary to pass is 15.

5. A written assignment. The topic will be specified in class.
