This subject aims at preparing the students to further cultivate their professional expertise, enabling them a deeper orientation in the basic phases of the research work in the music education and qualifying them for scholarly and research work at the doctoral level. The main points: Research logic, its characteristics from the study activities (problem diagnosis, source preparation, theoretical aspect of the solved problem) to the organizational and research activities. Printed or electronic primary and secondary sources, methods of the source preparation. Content and methodological aspects of the research, their use in the music education praxis, diagnostics of the musical abilities and skills. Formation of the final research report. Ethic of the research work. Formation of the doctoral thesis in light of content, formal, linguistic and stylistic accuracy. The particular focus: musical appreciation diagnostics of different age groups.
