The mission of the course "Operating systems I" is to introduce students to the general issues of operating systems for personal computers, to familiarize them with the basic principles of operating systems and highlight the differences of various operating systems for personal computers. The objective of this course is the mastery of basic theoretical knowledge and practical skills needed for work on personal computers under different operating systems, making use of system resources and tools commonly available for users. In addition to the operating systems MS-DOS and Windows, students will be familiarized mainly with Linux operating system.
