Course is aimed at secondary literacy problematics in relation to person's health. Problems of theory of health and illness are covered in greater detail. Furthermore different views on health and illness in cultural and historical contexts are analyzed as well as myths relating to the meaning of health in human life. Emphasis is given to the influence of upbringing on forming health related human behavior. Course comes out from ideas of European health strategy, which works with the concept of health literacy as a requirement to take responsibility for one's own health.
