Cílem kurzu je seznámení studentů s poznatky kognitivních reálií německy mluvících zemí. Přednášky jsou vybudovány na srovnávacím principu vybraných témat. Jsou porovnávány společné i odlišné prvky reálií těchto zemí. Obsah kurzu tvoří následující témata: Zeměpisná poloha německy mluvících zemí (dále jen NMZ). Politický systém NMZ a jejich současné postavení ve světě. Hospodářský profil NMZ. Tisk, veletrhy, sociální život, kulturní a geografické zvláštnosti, zvyky a tradice v NMZ. Hlavní města NMZ. Vztahy NMZ k České republice.
