Seminars cover the period from the Antiquity to the Twentieth century. The aim is to familiarize students with special thematic areas narrowly defined; to perfect their knowledge of theme by finding relevant sources and literature; to develop their ability to critical lecture of the sources; to use results in pedagogical practice. Students are actively involved in the creation of the seminar´s program, such as the preparation of papers, excursions, etc..

Semináře svým zaměřením rovnoměrně pokrývají období od antiky do dvacátého století. Některé semináře jsou koncipovány interdisciplinárně a propojují historii s příbuznými obory (např. dějiny umění, literární historie). Cílem je podrobné seznámení se s úzce vymezenými tematickými okruhy, získání znalostí pro vyhledávání příslušných pramenů a literatury a rozvoj schopnosti je kriticky zhodnotit a využít zejména v pedagogické praxi. Studenti se aktivně podílejí na vytvoření programu semináře, např. přípravou referátů, exkurzí atp.
