In the course, students of pedagogy and students of the teaching profession are informed about the philosophical, ideological and theoretical fundamentals of education. Until present, the knowledge of teachers of educational processes and the educational reality are above all the matter of " common sense". In their practice, they rarely refer to theories or the scientific substantiation of the reality. It is of great importance to prepare students for this reflection before they step over the school threshold. They should gain a tool for gaining their own professional identity, self-confidence. To acquaint the students with the wealth of philosophical reflections (idealism, pragmatism, etc.) will help them to understand the complexity of ideological fundamentals of education (liberalism, conservatism, nationalism, etc).
