This course introduces students to major British institutions and familiarises them with cultural debates currently taking place in Britain. Topics covered include cultural and ethnic diversity, the making of regional and national identity, class and education. Particular notice is taken of the role of language in relation to culture.

Kurz seznamuje studenty s důležitými britskými institucemi a s aktuálními společensko-kulturními tématy britské společnosti, jako jsou například kulturní a etnická různorodost, formování regionální a národní identity a otázka vzdělání.
