Introductory course to Banach space theory. Schauder bases, structure of classical sequence spaces lp; c0 and basic structure of L1(m); C(K). Main examples of the classical theory due to James and Tsirelson will be constructed. The knowledge on the level of the course Introduction to Functional Analysis (NRFA006) is desirable.

Structure of general and classical lp, Lp spaces will be investigated in detail.Famous examples such as James' and Tsirelson's spaces will be described. Some fundamental theorems in this area, e.g. Jame's and Rosenthal's theorems will be proven.

The course is designed for students familiar with the basic functional analysis, duality theory, weak topologies and the representation of the duals of classical spaces.
