Special theory of relativity. Length, time. Mass and energy. Light velocity. Dualism.

Particle properties of waves and wave properties of particles. Structure of atom. Thompson, Rutherford, Bohr and quantum model of atom.

Schrödinger equation. Particle in box, harmonic oscillator.

Atomic spectra, hydrogen atom, spectral series.

Statistical mechanics. Distributions, Planck law.

Basic characteristics of nucleus. Binding energy of nucleus, properties of nuclear forces. Drop and shell model of nucleus.

Radioactivity. General properties, decay law. Alpha, beta, and gamma decay. Application of nuclear radiation.

Nuclear reaction. Effective crossection, mean free path. Nuclear fissure and thermonuclear synthesis.

Elemental particles. Basic characteristics. Quantum numbers. Leptons and hadrons. Quarks and gluons. Annihilation and creation of particles. Antiparticles.
