Earth as a part of the universe, basic astronomical concepts, Earth movements, Earth shape. The sundial design. Earth surface projection: azimuthal, cylindrical and conical projections, general projection methods. Types of maps. The course is taught once in two years.

The course is completed by an exam consisting of a written and an oral part. It takes place in due and two resit dates. To be admitted to the oral part it is necessary to pass the written part.

Basic astronomical concepts, Earth movements, Earth shape. Earth surface projection, especially azimuthal, cylindrical and conical projections, general projection methods. Types of maps. Historical context. Emphasis is focused on applications of descriptive geometry.
