1. Propagation of elastic waves in solids. Measurement of velocity and damping, puls echo method. 2. Measurement of elastic constants. 3. Acoustic emission. 4. Anelastic relaxation in solids. Characteristics of anelastic behaviour. Point defect relaxation, dislocation relaxation, grain boundary relaxation, transitory effects, interaction of acoustic waves with electrons, phonons and magnons.
