This facultative lecture is intended for students of physics in sixth or eighth semester. It contains the overview of the following physical methods: X-ray, electron and neutron diffraction, X-ray fluorescence analysis, X-ray absorption analysis, electron probe microanalysis, photoelectron spectroscopy (UPS, XPS), Auger spectroscopy, ion scattering (SIMS, RBS), Moessbauer spectroscopy. Some physical-chemical analytical methods are also discussed like the Dumas method, differential thermal analysis, thermogravimetry, and polarography.
