Electrons, holes. band structure. Homogeneous semiconductor. Drift, diffusion, generation, recombination, carriers trapping and tunneling. Inhomogeneous semiconductor. Basic optical properties of semiconductors, mechanisms of optical absorption and emission. Photoelectric effects. Detection of light, parameters of detectors. Luminescence, mechanisms of radiative recombination. Experimental methods.
