The aim of the course is an attempt at geographical synthesis for selected Czech microregion. A student will creatively use his/her knowledge, skills, and orientation in the information sources gained during the first three years of the study. A student will come to know the region as from available data as from own research activity, extend his/her relation to the region and gain the experience that can be used in the region of his/her place of work in the future. A student is given an opportunity to get into the sphere of regional policy, build contacts in physical planning and decision-making bodies and meet possibilities of being engaged in this sphere.

Deeper knowledge of the region will serve as a base for prospective creation of the study text of geography of local region for students at grammar schools. Readiness for activity in geographical education for preparation of young people for active personal and professional life, in which they should be able to decide for the benefit of the environment, will be proved by ability to get into discussions or by solution of regional problems.
