Tourism of the Czech Republic from the geographical approach point of view is the content of the course. The aim is to bring near to students the tourism as an important branch of the Czech economy, tertiary sector and selected regions. Tourism of the Czech Republic from the geographical point of view is the content of the course. The aim is to introduce the tourism to students as an important branch of the Czech economy, tertiary sector and selected regions, mainly after the year 1989.

Individual lectures relate to:

1. Introduction (theory and methodology; terminology, literature and data, indicators, statistics)

2. Geographical position of the Czech Republic and its impact on the potential, kind, intensity, developmentt, changes and distribution of tourism.

3. Historical development with respect to the both periods after 1948 and 1989.

4. Regionalization (former attempts, forms of tourism, second homes, cathegory of regions and centres of tourism etc.)

5. Conditions of location, selection and realization of tourism.

6. Legislative, organizational and technical frame, enterprises (travel agencies).

Individual tourism regions:

7. Prague as a world centre of tourism.

8.-12. Regions of Central, Southern, Western, Northern and Eastern Bohemia.

13.-15. Regions of Southern, Central and Northern Moravia and Silesia.
