Introduction; Behaviour of a man in space and time; characterisation of a life style; postmodernism; "psychology" of the environmental problems with special respect towards processes of human perception, preferences and mobility; global problems of the mankind - "planetary approach"; problems tied to a population growth, quality of the environment and health of the population. Sustainable development and a quality of the environment and a quality of man's health, basic terminology and information sources; methods how to analyse an influence of an environment on a man's health. Environmental epidemiology (exposure, its intensity and a level of risk); Quantitative approaches towards an analysis of a relationship between a man and environment; Monitoring of health conditions of the population in relation to a quality of the environment; a long-term development of health conditions of the world population; epidemiological stages; differentiation of a relationship between a man and environment within Europe, man's health in Europe - long-term trends; geography of diseases in developed and developing countries in a context of different environmental factors; differentiation of a man-environment relationship within the Czech Republic in space and time.

Introduction into the discipline, the subject as such, its inner structure and relation to other disciplines; settling topics of seminar studies; methods of designing questionnaires/interviews; a man and his behaviour in time and space, characterization of the current living style, postmodernism; personality theories; processes of perception, preference and mobility; different behavioural patterns according to gender, culture (religion), wealth (rich versus poor) and environment (urban versus rural); problems of the current and the future population development; selected global population problems - HIV/AIDS epidemics, international migration issues, globalization; quality of the environment and health; Sustainable life & quality of the environment & quality of life - basic terms and sources of information; a relationship between the environment and health - methods of assessment - data sources and its availability; methods of special surveys; environmental epidemiology;

a quantitative approach towards the analysis of a relationship between a man and an environment, demographic-epidemiological methods (SPSS, EpiInfo); a system of monitoring population health quality in relation to a quality of environment; a long-term development of the population health in a global perspective; epidemiological shifts; the relationship between a man and the environment within Europe, population health in Europe in a long-term development; geography of illnesses in developed and developing countries and its conditionality; a man and the environment in the Czech Republic; presentation of students´ seminar studies.
