Due to the interdisciplinary character of the doctoral study programme, the state examination verifies knowledge of the students in three areas: chemistry, teaching&psychology, and didactics of chemistry. To verify the ability to do research and process research results at a required level, the students must write a text documenting their work on the dissertation.

Vzhledem k mezioborovému charakteru doktorského studijního programu ověřuje SDZk hlubší znalosti studentů ze tří oblastí: didaktika chemie, chemické obory a pedagogika & psychologie. K ověření schopnosti bádat a své výsledky zpracovávat na potřebné úrovni se vyžaduje zpracování písemné práce, dokumentující dosavadní postup práce na tématu disertace.

The state doctoral examination is combined.
The oral part of the state doctoral examination in didactics of chemistry consists of three areas:
a) didactics of chemistry: general didactics of chemistry, didactics of general and inorganic chemistry, and didactics of organic chemistry and biochemistry
b) teaching/psychology: pedagogy, psychology and general didactics
c) chemistry: inorganic chemistry, organic chemistry, analytic chemistry, physical chemistry, and biochemistry
Each student proves their knowledge in selected subjects within these three areas. As the students choose one subject in each area, each student is examined in three subjects.
The second part of the examination is a text documenting student’s work on the dissertation. The content and length is determined by the supervisor according to the student’s individual study plan. The form of the text is then chosen according to the selected part of the dissertation. Before the state doctoral examination, the text is complemented by the supervisor’s evaluation for the examination committee.

Státní doktorská zkouška je kombinovaná.
Ústní komponenta státní doktorské zkoušky DS Didaktika chemie sestává ze tří tematických oblastí: a) oblast didaktiky chemie zahrnuje obecnou didaktiku chemie, didaktiku obecné a anorganické chemie a didaktiku organické chemie a biochemie b) oblast pedagogika & psychologie zahrnuje pedagogiku, psychologii a obecnou didaktiku c) oblast chemie zahrnuje chemii anorganickou, organickou, analytickou, fyzikální a biochemii
Každý student v rámci SDZ prokazuje své vědomosti z vybraných oborů ze všech tří uvedených oblastí. Vzhledem k tomu, že si student z každé oblasti volí jeden obor, jedná se celkem o tři obory SDZ. Druhou komponentou státní doktorské zkoušky je písemná práce, dokumentující postup práce na zadaném tématu. Obsah a rozsah práce určí školitel podle ISP studenta; forma práce bude analogická vybrané části práce disertační. Před SDZ školitel práci doplní hodnotícím vyjádřením pro zkušební komi
