A strategy of grant application course consists of writing in English a training grant application, which corresponds in format to part C according to GACR requirements:

GACR instructions (zadavaci dokumentace) are described at:
http://gacr.cz/zadavaci-dokumentace/.

Zadávací dokumentace STD_2020.
Pay attention to C1 part only, justification of the project.
Especially, pay attention to these rules:

Prepare a training grant proposal regarding your project in the laboratory where you work; you as a principal investigator.
Please use all 10 pages allowed, with line spacing 1 and with font 11.
Do not forget to clearly indicate the hypothesis you are testing by the project.
Do not forget to show pilot experiments which prove that your project is realistic and correct.
Do not forget to specify the number of experimental animals, cells, etc. in the groups and indicate methods you will be used for determination of the statistical significance of intergroup differences.
To document that the methods you will be using in your project are available to you, please make references to the papers from your laboratory where the methods are described. If a new method is used, please specify who will teach you the technique. Just citation of the methods, especially demanding ones is not sufficient,
Do not forget to divide your project into stages and show timetable. Please indicate what you will be doing each year during your three-years project.
Do not forget to indicate why your project is important and indicate a long-range-goal of your studies, why it is essential for society.
Please control English, if there are too many mistakes reviewers could be less enthusiastic about your capacity to do top science.
When finished, please send me the final form of your training application (in pdf, with pagination at the bottom) and I will review it. If everything is O.K. from both scientific and formal point of view, I will indicate into your index passing the course. If not, I will send the project back to you with the request for corrections.
You can send the application any time.

My recommendation is that you consult your training grant proposal with people experienced in writing successful GACR grants.

With regards,

Petr Draber
