Zkouška: písemná forma, stručné odpovědi na 20 otázek, včetně např. načrtnutí grafů, jednoduchého výpočtu zpaměti apod. Nejsou povoleny žádné pomůcky, kalkulačky a telefony. Klasifikace 3 při výsledku 55-70%; 2 při 70-85%; 1 při 85-100% (započítává se případná penalizace za pozdě odevzdaná cvičení, viz níže).

Zápočet: Podmínkou udělení je aktivní účast na práci v laboratoři a odevzdání všech správně vypracovaných zpráv podle harmonogramu za každého zvlášť. Odevzdávat lze pouze výtisky, nikoliv soubory emailem. Nejvhodnější je odevzdávat zprávy během přednášek.

Za neomluvené nedodržení data odevzdání cvičení (viz harmonogram) se zpřísňují kritéria pro hodnocení zkouškové písemky: snižuje se počet dosažených bodů o 2,5% za každý nedodržený termín.

Basics of mechanics. Stress and strain. Normal and shear stress, Mohr's circle. Plane strain, axial symmetry. Strength. Stiffness. Stress paths.

Water in soils. Pore pressure. Effective stress. Partial saturation, capillary water, suction. In-situ stress in soil layer. Drainage. Drained and undrained loading.

Swelling and collapse. Frost heave.

Seepage and permeability. Flow nets.

Soil compressibility. Laboratory testing.

Prefailure behaviour of soils.

Critical states.

Soil strength. Drained and undrained strength. Strength testing.
