1. Introduction, how to cite correctly, plagiarism, evaluation of credibility of sources. Research part of a HG survey work: where to look for information, archives, Geofond, libraries, professional journals, internet resources, copyright protection, maps, current data, lidar, basic overview of companies in the Czech Republic and what they do.
2. Basics of hydrogeology and field hydrological measurements - flow measurements. Review of basic concepts - groundwater and surface water, hydrological balance, characteristics of collectors and insulators, types of porosity, basic hydraulic parameters of the rock environment, Darcy's law and groundwater flow rates.
3. Measurement and sampling in the field: measurement of levels and flows. Hydrogeological cross-section: interpretation of the hydrogeological environment based on information from boreholes, characteristics of collectors and insulators, types of porosity, basic hydraulic parameters of the rock environment.
4. Hydrodynamic tests: steady pumping.
5. Hydrodynamic tests: constant pumping.
6. Hydrodynamic tests: rising water level type.
7. Hydrodynamic tests: slug test and deviations of measured curves from ideal ones.
8. Components of drilling equipment (drilling rig and drilling column), main components of drilling mode (pressure, speed and flushing), factors influencing the drilling process (drilling mode, drilling tool, rock, physico-chemical environmental conditions), overview, characteristics and use various drilling technologies (impact drilling, rotary drilling, combined drilling, other types of drilling: vibratory, grab, manual sounding)
9. Hydrogeological boreholes in multi-collector systems and aquifers with a tensioned surface, basic information on excavation work (exploratory excavations and trenches, galleries and shafts), hydrogeological exploratory well equipment (working sheeting, door frame material, filling and sealing of the borehole, modification of the borehole head).
10. Basic legislation: law on geological works, project of geological works, responsible solver of geological works, final report of hydrogeological works, water law, ČSN.
11. Hydrological balance, evapotranspiration, specific total and basic runoff, share of evaporation in precipitation, separation of hydrogram.
12. Excursion

Exercises:
1. Citations - an essay on dowsing.
2. Construction of hydrogeological cross-section across a valley, hydroisohyps.
3. Calculation of flows by different methods.
4. Evaluation of hydrodynamic tests.
5. Calculation of hydrological balance.
6. Design of hydrogeological borehole.
7. Answers to legislative questions.
8. Hydrogeological final report.
