This course aims to provide an in-depth practical introduction into geological processes that form common types of rock-forming minerals and basic types of magmatic, sedimentary and metamorphic rocks. This is followed by brief introduction into work with a geologic compass, processing of geologic orientation data, construction of geologic maps, and interpretation of cross-sections. This practical-oriented lab course loosely follows Physical geology I lecture, however students are not required to first obtain credits before enrolling into an exam from the lecture.
