Ecology Field course is intended namely for Bc. students, though it may be suitable for any ecologically oriented MSc. grade program. The aim of the course is to provide an introduction to ecological field research, and - perhaps more significantly - to perceive the natural systems, communities and organisms as research objects allowing to formulate sound hypotheses and to verify them.
The course is task-based, accenting the student's activities in field. The tasks are of two kinds: (i) optional, i.e. each group of 2-3 students will choose one task from those available (see the syllabus), and will follow this task during the course, i.e. 3-4 (5) days. Results will be presented the last (5th) day. In parallel, each group will "taste" each of the (ii) obligatory tasks, which will be demonstrated daily, to see also the other kinds of ecological field work.
