Aim of the lecture is to introduce students to problems of prokaryotic genetics. Mechanisms of natural changes, transfer and plasticity of genetic information of bacteria will be described and explained. The structure and properties of basic groups of plasmids, bacteriophages and transposition elements will be discussed. Emphasis will be placed on the incidence of these mobile elements in clinically important bacteria genera.
Exercises should complement lectured topics and practice of specific examples.

Cílem přednášky je uvést studenty do problematiky genetiky bakterií a upozornit na specifika a zákonitosti přenosu genetické informace u prokaryotních mikroorganismů. Budou popsány a vysvětleny mechanismy přirozených změn, přenosu a plasticity genetické informace bakterií, bude probírána též struktura a vlastnosti základních skupin plazmidů, bakteriofágů a transpozičních elementů. Důraz bude kladen na výskyt těchto mobilních elementů v klinicky významných rodech bakterií.
Cvičení doplňuje odpřednášená témata v kurzu a v jeho rámci jsou témata procvičována na konkrétních příkladech.
