The subject of the seminar: Sacrifice as a central ritual of antiquity.

The course will take the form of a seminar. Preparation for the seminar and active participation are expected. The course will consist of reading and interpreting ancient texts, followed by discussion of selected topics.

Participants will receive the texts at least one month before the first seminar. All materials will be available on the university's Moodle system.

The seminar will take place in blocks on 17. and 18. 5 and on  24. and 25. 5, always on Friday afternoon and Saturday morning.

 

A prerequisite is the completion of an introductory course in religious studies - at the Hussite Theological Faculty this is Introduction to Religious Studies I (L0346). Individual arrangements are possible.
