International migration is an integral part of the globalized world. The complex phenomenon of migration poses burning social and political questions, for example the questions concerning asylum policy, irregular migration, integration of migrants, brain drain or European immigration policy, which are ethically relevant. International migration is in many ways “a touchstone of an ethic of global justice” (M. Heimbach-Steins).
In the course, the questions concerning migration as well as immigration and asylum policy are presented, reflected, and discussed from ethical perspective. They will be discussed with focus on the current situation and current challenges.
