The basic orientation of the seminar is Academic English as a Lingua Franca (ELFA) The seminar focuses on the development of academic competences in English for the fields of History of Art, History of European Culture, and Theology. The expected level of the language is at least B1 according to the European Framework of Reference (the student should be able to understand longer texts with the help of a dictionary and actively participate in discussions).
80% of the interactive content of the seminar in English.

Expected amount of home preparation: 1-2 hours per week to prepare the compulsory methodological and linguistic material, which must be submitted at least 48 hours before the next lesson (google classroom platform).

Základní orientací semináře je akademická angličtina jako lingua franca (ELFA) Seminář je zaměřen na rozvoj akademických kompetencí v anglickém jazyce pro obory dějiny umění, dějiny evropské kultury a teologie. Předpokládaná úroveň jazyka je minimálně B1 dle evropského referenčního rámce (posluchač semináře by měl být schopen s pomocí slovníku porozumět delšímu textu a aktivně se účastnit diskuzí).
Výkladové teoretické části (cca 20 %) v českém jazyce. 80% interaktivního obsahu semináře v anglickém jazyce.

Předpokládaný rozsah domácí přípravy: 1-2 hodiny týdně k vypracování povinného metodického a jazykového materiálu, který musí být odevzdán vždy nejpozději 48 hodin před následující hodinou (platforma google classroom).

The flipped classroom method is used in the teaching: students are given initial material to prepare at home, and then the topic is discussed further in the seminar. The active knowledge of the vocabulary and language skills of the lesson is subject to a test.

Ve výuce je používána tzv. metoda převrácené třídy (flipped classroom): studenti obdrží výchozí materiál k domácí přípravě, na základě jeho vypracování a osvojení znalostí je pak téma dále probíráno v semináři. Aktivní znalost odborné slovní zásoby a jazykových dovedností dané lekce podléhají kontrole.

Each topic in the syllabus corresponds to an orientation topic for the presentation. All presentations must first and foremost meet the formal requirements of an academic presentation!!!

For implementation + English phraseology, a set of Steps to an effective presentation is attached in SIS.

 

WITHIN THE WINTER TERM THERE WILL BE HELD COMPULSORY DISCURSIVE PRESENTATIONS!

One topic will be shared by two students in one joint presentation (each taking his or her own point of view, argumentation and/or thematic contribution).

Presentation topics of the respective lesson including a one-page handout for the rest of the class are required (15-20 minutes joint presentation strictly observed!).

 

Thematic headings and presentation topics for students of Art history / European culture history / Literature history / Philosophy/ Theology are based on Western Schools of Art. 

Texts focusing on specific Western artistic styles are the starting point. Specific methodological and linguistic exercises are developed in their context and must be completed and submitted to the teacher via email no later than 48 hours BEFORE the respeczive lesson!
However, specific presentations (concerning the given period or topic) can be loosely focused on the students' particular field of study.

The topics correspond to the 12 teaching weeks (there are no presentations in the first teaching week):

The given topics of the syllabus will be alternatively supplemented and expanded (theoretical methodology, reflection on current events, etc.)

Každému tématu sylabu odpovídá orientační téma pro prezentaci. Všechny prezetace musejí v první řadě splňovat formální náležitosti akademické prezentace!!!

Pro provedení + anglickou frazeologii je v SISu  přiložen soubor Steps to an effective presentation. 

Povinné tematické prezentace v ZS mají diskursivní charakter. Dvojice studentů si zaopíše prezentaci na dané téma výukového týdne (viz níže). Studenti spolu budou konzultovat vlastní úhlel pohledu a představí téma společně, byť každý z nich má možnost zcela osobního zracování (i na základě oborové specializace). Důraz je dále kladen na schopnost spoluráce a kreativního řešení společné prezentace.

Součástí prezentace je vypracování jednostránkového handoutu pro posluchače (kolegy studenty). Časový limit pro společnou prezentaci je min 15 a max 20 minut!

1) Active participation in class (2 absences allowed) and completion and timely submission of the worksheets (exclusively on google classrom, 48 hours before the next lesson).

2) 1–2 oral presentation in pairs (overall 15-20 min)

3) Final written test or completion of colloquium. In the case of 100% compliance with the previous three requirements, the final test or colloquium may be waived.

1) Aktivní účast na hodinách (povoleny 2 absence) a plnění a včasné odevzdání domácí přípravy (výhradně na google classrom, 48 hodin před následující lekcí).

2) 1 ústní prezentace ve dvojici (celkový čas 15–20 min)

3) Závěrečný písemný test nebo absolvování kolokvia. V případě 100% splnění předchozích tří povinností může být od závěrečného testu či kolokvia upuštěno!
