Students can choose from the following languages for the attestation: ENGLISH, GERMAN and ITALIAN (if you are interested in attestation in German or Italian or another world language, please contact the course guarantor).

For the English language certification:
A student with an active knowledge of the language (B1–B2) within the scope of the entire vocabulary and the ability to express himself/herself on the study topics will prepare for the exam independently by repeating the entire vocabulary and reading shorter specialized literature (entries in specialized dictionaries and encyclopedias, specialized websites). Study the principles of summarisation. In preparation, the student will have the opportunity to enrol in the KJAZ156 and KJAZ157 Academic English Seminars.

The aim of the course is to test the student's ability to communicate in one of the world languages within his/her field of study and to use foreign language literature.

Ziel des Kurses ist es, die Fähigkeit des Schülers zu prüfen, sich in einer der Weltsprachen seines Studienfachs zu verständigen und die fremdsprachliche Literatur zu nutzen.

L'obiettivo del corso è quello di verificare la capacità dello studente di comunicare in una delle lingue mondiali del suo campo di studi e di utilizzare la letteratura in lingua straniera.

Students are invited to prepare for the Certification by regularly attending the Academic English courses KJAZ156 and KJAZ157. The syllabus for these courses is given in their descriptions.

For the English language certification:

The examination for the award of credit has both oral and written parts. The candidate will present a professional English text of about 10-15 pages related to his/her field of study (e.g. an article in a professional periodical), selected by the candidate and approved in advance (via email) by the examiner. He/she will translate the selected passage into English and be able to comment on its content.  Explain the selected professional terms, demonstrating knowledge of vocabulary by variations of wording. Finally, he/she will write an English summary of the specified part of the text.
