Students should demonstrate their mastery of English on the level B2 as well as their ability to discuss academic themes with the teacher. Assesment:30 pages of a chosen scholar text sent via email to the teacher in advance (approval needed). The text is meant as a base for the exam: discussion, comments, paraphrasing and summary (both, oral and written).

You can prepare for the exam by regularly attending the Academic English seminars KJAZ156 and KJAZ157. The syllabus for these courses is given in their descriptions.

Course completion requirements -

Students will prepare a text of 30 pages concerning their field of study. Based on their text, they will demonstrate their knowledge of English grammar and vocabulary in the discussion with the teacher. Finally, they will write a summary of the chosen extract. The text must be sent to the teacher in advance (to be approved).

Students with B2 and C1 certificates can take the exam with a shorter text, preferably an article in a professional journal. They will be able to describe the topic, the research question, the method and the conclusions reached by the author.
