The course focuses on film in 19th and especially 20th century art. It will show how this new medium aroused interest among artists and led them to experiment.

Kurz se v LS soustředí na problematiku filmu v umění 19. a především 20. století. Přiblíží, jak toto nové médium vzbuzovalo zájem mezi výtvarnými umělci a vedlo je k experimentování.

The student will learn how the visual arts have intersected with the medium of the moving image. The student will get a basic understanding of the development of the film and video and their relationship to art history.
