Přednákový cyklus se zaměřuje na umění 20. století v Evropě. Sleduje charakteristické problémy, které předním uměním vyvstaly v souvislosti s formálními, politickými a sociálními požadavky novodobé Evropy. Přednáškový cyklus se zbývá například snahou moderních umělců zapojit diváka procesu vzniku díla. Neopomíjí také témata jako hledání spirituálního rozměru moderního umění, reflexe válečných konfliktů, vztah avantgardy ke komunismu, umění tzv. Východního bloku za studené války, psychologický a terapeutický rozměr umění, role nových médií ap. Jednotlivé tematické okruhy jsou líčeny v širokém kulturně-historickém kontextu.
