This series of lectures will provide students with orientation in the historical transformations of art history, from the
beginnings of art history to the present. The course will focus on key methodological approaches, their genesis,
evolution and their major contribution to the cultural and historical context.. At the same time the modifications of
application of the methods will be studied, as well as the historical contribution of individual representatives of the
method. Special emphasis will be placed on linking the Czech art history with the development of the field abroad.
