The practical teaching of medieval diplomatic and codicology. The students become familiar with offical (diplomatic) sources and learn to use diplomatic analysis in pinpointing sources´authenticity (veri ac falsi discrimen). They also make acquaintace with main collections of medieval manuscripts and study their characteristics.

Cílem je naučit se základy diplomatického rozboru listin a seznámit se ze hlavními druhy úředních písemností středověku. Dále i s popisem středověkých rukopisů a s nejdůležitějšími kodexy v knihovních sbírkách ČR.

 Credit is achieved for the correct transcription of medieval charter into contemporary scripture  and for characterization of its parts. Futhermore, it is necessary to make an accurate transcription of a section of medieval manuscript and determine its type.
