The subject is a continuation of KBIB027 New Testament Epistles 1. It offers an introduction into Pauline epistles that are by a majority of scholars considered as the legacy of Paul composed by his disciples and continuators. They include the Letter to the Colossians, and Ephesians, and so called Pastoral Epistles (1-2 Tim, Tit). Then follows an introduction into the Epistle to the Hebrews, an early Christian homily, which is in Christian tradition related to the letters of St. Paul. Then follows a presentation of the Catholic Epistles, namely the Epistle of James, the Epistle of Jude, and two Epistles of Peter (three Epistles of John are treated in the course on Johannine literature). Students will be introduced into literary, rhetorical, theological, and spiritual aspects of each of the epistles and led into reading and exegesis of selected texts.

Kurz navazuje na předmět KBIB027 Novozákonní epištoly. Poskytuje uvedení do pavlovských listů, které velká část dnešních odborníků považuje Pavlův odkaz sepsaný generací jeho žáků a pokračovatelů. Patří k nim list Kolosanům a Efezanům a tzv. pastorální epištoly (1-2 Tim, Tit). Dále je obsahem kurzu uvedení do Listu Židům, raněkřesťanské homilie, který je v křesťanské tradici volně spojován s listy apoštola Pavla. Na něj pak bude navazovat pojednání o tzv. katolických apoštolách, jmenovitě o Listu Jakubově, Judově a dvou listech Petrových (tři listy Janovy jsou připojeny do kurzu o janovských spisech). Spolu s úvodem do literárních, rétorických, teologických a spirituálních hledisek jednotlivých listů je do kurzu zařazena četba a exegeze vybraných textů.

To acquire an understanding of the theological vocabulary and mode of argument of the Pauline school, which builds on the legacy of the great "apostle to the nations." A knowledge of the basic christological, ecclesiological, eschatological, anthropological and parenetic concepts and themes of Pauline literature. Through the study of the Epistle to the Hebrews, to become familiar with a unique document of early Christian homiletics that is the only direct evidence of Christology expressed in priestly terminology. To study the position of the so-called "Catholic Epistles" within the New Testament canon (excluding the Johannine Epistles), the circumstances of their composition, and the way in which they reflect the various profiling theological and spiritual movements in early Christianity.

Osvojit si porozumění teologickému slovníku a způsobu argumentace pavlovské školy, která navazuje na odkaz velkého "apoštola národů". Zvládnout znalost základních christologických, ekleziologických, eschatologických, antropologických a parenetických pojmů a témat pavlovské literatury. Studiem listu Židům se seznámit s jedinečným dokladem raně křesťanské homilie, která je jediným přímým dokladem christologie vyjádřené v kněžské terminologii. Studovat postavení tzv. "katolických epištol" v rámci novozákonního kánonu (kromě janovských listů), okolností jejich vzniku a způsobu, jakým refluktují různé profilující se teologické a spirituální směry v raném křesťanství.
