This course begins with examining the phenomenon of prophecy in Israel in comparison with pagan omen.
After this introduction the students will explore the prophetic books belonging to the Old Testament canon.Their attention will then be focused on the exegesis of selected key texts.

The aim of the course is to get basic knowledge of the prophetical and apocalyptical books concerning both the introductory questions and the exegesis of chosen important texts.

The course is in Czech but there is a possibility for foreign students to consult the teacher about the topics and to write a paper in order to get the attestation. This can be done in English or

1. Úvod do prorockého fenoménu (vymezení, vztah k věštbě a magii, zastoupení na blízkém Východě a v Bibli).

2. Izaiáš - otázky výkladu a členění poselství v průběhu exegeze.

2. 1. Protoizaiáš - úvod a exegeze Iz 11,1-5.

2. 2. Deuteroizaiáš - základní obsah; exegeze 42,1-7.

2. 3. Tritoizaiáš - teologie; exegeze 61,1-3.

3. Jeremiáš - charakteristika doby, život proroka, kniha, teologie, exegeze 1,4-10.

4. Ezechiel - charakteristika osoby i knihy.

5. Dodekaprofeton: Ozeáš, Joel, Ámos, Abdiáš, Jonáš, Micheáš, Nahum, Habakuk, Sofoniáš, Ageus, Zachariáš, Malachiáš.

6. Daniel a apokalyptika: charakteristické rysy apokalyptiky; obsah a teologie knihy Daniel.
