This course focuses on changes in media behaviour in (post)modern society. With emphasis on sociological perspective it will acquaint students with basic signs of globalisation, commercionalisation (and commodification), monopolisation and digitalisation as determinant trends in the development of media at the turn of millennium. Apart from the offer of various theoretical views on these determining trends of development it will also deal with practical examples from Czech and foreign media and it will acquaint students with their effect on the structure of media, their stuffing or potential results of it on recipients and the whole society. Reflection on the trends in media that are in progress will enrich student?s view of current media content and media behaviour and it will equip them with a basic instrument enabling also anticipation of potential future development.
