The content of the subject stems from the knowledge gained from pharmacognosy. On the examples of several plants shows the components of modern agriculture engineering, agrochemistry, knowledge from plant ecology and phytopathology. Familiarizes students with possibilities and difficulties of cultivation of medicinal plants in bulk production, but also in conditions of patches. The education is divided into lecture part and practical part which takes place in the Garden of Medicinal Plants of Faculty of Pharmacy Charles University.

The subject consists of lectures and practical classes. The practical classes take place on the Botanical garden of medicinal plants set up by Faculty of Pharmacy, Charles University in Hradec Kralove. The students,divided in to small groups, get practical knowladge about principles of cultivation of many medicinal plants, which occur not only in our flora, but also the introduced species. The students participate on the production plants which are directly planting and cultivated for production in the garden area.
