Student si v průběhu studia osvojuje teoretické poznatky a praktické dovednosti v celé šíři oboru patologie včetně bioptické diagnostiky a principů molekulární patologie. Seznamuje se s možnostmi využití různých biologických metod ve vědecko-výzkumné i běžné diagnostické činnosti – imunohistochemie, in-situ hybridizace, polymerázová řetězová reakce, atd.
