Attendance at lectures

A maximum of two excused absences are permitted; excuses must be sent in advance only to the excuse form. In case of a higher number of absences, the situation will be resolved individually with the Head of the Department of Internal Medicine.

Lectures

The lectures will introduce students to the issues of individual subfields of Cardiology and Angiology.

1. Ventricular arrhythmias, sudden cardiac death.

2. Supraventricular tachyarrhythmias.

3. Bradyarrhythmias, the essentials of cardiac pacing.

4. Modern imaging in cardiology.

5. Stress tests in cardiology.

6. Cardiotoxicity of anticancer therapy.

7. Role of a junior doctor in the NHS, an advice from NHS consultants.

8. Infective endocarditis.

9. Cardiac catheterization.

10. Pharmacologic and non-pahracologic therapy of heart failure, current status.

11. Structural interventions short overview and current status. 

12. Peripheral artery disease - practical approach. Deep vein thrombosis - practical approach.

13. Cardiovascular pharmacotherapy (interactive cases).

14. ECG quiz (interactive cases).
