Prerequisities for the subject Prosthodontics I are all mandatory subjects of the second year of studies and subjects Clinical Dentistry I and Clinical Dentistry II.

Aim of the course

After finishing of this subjects, students are able to:

  1. Examinate the patient and suggest optimal material for the fixed reconstruction.
  2. Do the preparation and to take impression of the fixed reconstruction, choose the colour.
  3. To prepare temporary fixed dentures.
  4. Choose optimal material for cementing of the fixed reconstruction.

Credit

  1. Credit test has to be done at least with 80 % (max. 2 re-take credit tests).
  2. Homeworks at least 80 % from each (45-onlay, 36-PFM, 21-esthetical veneer, 34-all-ceramic crown, 13-all-ceramic crown).
  3. Student must be present at all practical classes.

  1. Examination of the patient focused on planning the fixed reconstruction. Materials used in fixed prosthetics, overview of working procedures. (Vavrickova 3)
  2. Basic rules for fixed crowns´preparations, choosing the colour, retraction of gingiva. (Vavrickova 3)
  3. Fixed bridges - classification and indications. (Vavrickova 3)
  4. Temporary fixed dentures. Materials for cementing in prosthetic dentistry. (Vavrickova 3)

  2. Occlusal adjustment of fixed prostheses and their delivery to the patient.
  3. Treatment planning in fixed prosthodontics, patient examination.
