1) Reinforcement of knowledge of clinical patient examination, differential diagnosis and therapy.

2) Knowledge of basic knowledge of cardiology, endocrinology, diabetology and nephrology.

Participation in practical exercises

A maximum of two excused absences are permitted; excuses must be sent only in advance to the excuse form. In case of a higher number of absences, the situation will be resolved individually with the Head of the Department of Internal Medicine.

Lectures:

Lectures introduce students to the basics of hematology, endocrinology, endocrinology, pulmonology and gastroenterology.

1. Haematologic disease and dental disorders.

2. Myeloproliferative disorders.

3. Aplastic anaemia.

4. Anaemia, diagnosis and treatment.

5. Differential diagnosis of lymphadenopathies.

6. Malignant lymphoma.

7. Myeloma, paraproteinemias. Fundamentals of haemotherapy.

8. Transfusion therapy

9. Leukemia.

10. Dif. diagnosis of haemorrhagic disorders.

11. Thyroid gland diseases.

12. Diseases of the adrenal gland.

13. Diseases of parathyroid glands and calcium metabolism.

14. Hyperlipoproteinemia. Obesity.

15. Intersticial lung disease, drugs induced.

16. Tracheobronchitis, bronchiolitis,and bronchiectasis.

17. Pulmonary tumours.

18. Chronic obstructive pulmonary disease.

19. Tuberculosis, pneumonia, and lung absces.

20. Pleural, and mediastinal diseases.

21. Bronchial asthma.

22. Respiratory failure and sleep breathing disorders.

23. Premalignant conditions of the GIT.

24. Diseases of the small and large intestine.

25. Liver cirrhosis and acute liver failure.

Practical exercises:

Students will complete 10 practicals that will focus on:

mastering the basic clinical examination of the patient.

presentation of typical cases to demonstrate the principles of differential diagnosis and therapy

getting familiar with specialized departments of internal medicine clinics
