Trancription and posttranscripional modification. Translation and postranlational modification. RNA interference. The role of genome in pathogenesis of diseases. Changes in the structure and number of chromosomes in diseases of orofacial area. Cloning of the humane beings - ethical end legislative aspects. Stem cells, cellular therapy and regenerative medicine. Gene manipulations - methods and principles, recombination of DNA, vectors, transfer of DNA, cloning of DNA, genomics, proteomisc. Applications of molecular biology in diagnostics and gene therapy - model examples from dentistry. Malignant transformation - types of oncogenes and tumoursuppressor genes, activation of protooncogenes, tumours of the orofacial area.
