Credit will be given to students who fulfil the attendace requirements /1OO%/. One absence will be tolerated if the student hands in an essay on a given topic.
Examination
One credit is required.
OBTAINING CREDIT PRACTICAL LESSONS
In the first lesson the students will get information about the system of care at the Department of Pediatrics, about the safety conditions, about the physical examination of a child and the basic differences from adults. Students will have the opportunity to see the medical documentation and will learn how to fill it in.
Students are required to study the subject before the practical lesson. Assistants select the topics for the next lesson according to the actual situation on the clipboards.
During the lesson students work in groups of 2 or 3 and examine children on their own. Then they discuss the cases with the whole group.
It is desirable to ask questions and take part in the discussion.
There will be tests on the discussed topics during the lessons.
A brief examination of knowledge on pediatrics is held during the last lesson.
It is possible to attend the lesson with another group with the approval of the assistant.
Students will visit all parts of the clinic and will learn how to communicate with all age groups of children. - theoretical knowledge is expected for the practical classes
FINAL EXAM
One credit is required.
The exam is in the oral form. The list of questions will be available before the exam period.
The theoretical exam: the student answers 2 questions in front of a commitee.
In case of insufficient knowledge the student can repeat the exam on an alternative date according to the Study Rules of the Faculty.
