Obtaining a credit grade Credit is given to the students, who fulfill the attendance requirements and pass the tests in each of the individual physiology system in that semester. Each semester that contains physiology has a single credit, i.e. there are two credits. Attendance: Students are required to attend all practical (laboratory) classes. The number of absences must not exceed 15 % of all practical classes. If more than 15 % of practical classes per term are missed the reexemination from all practical classes in semester is required. If more than 40 % of practical classes per term are missed the situation will be supervised by the Head of the Department of Physiology. Late coming is not accepted and then absence is recorded. Students are not allowed to leave practical class before it is officially finished by the teacher. Leaving earlier is considered as absence (unless permitted by the teacher). Tests: At the end of laboratory classes in each system, a seminar will be held and the students will be tested on that system. The test will be in the form of a multiple choice questionnaire. Those students who fail the test will take 1st correction test (the date will be announced in advance). There will be dates for 2nd correction at the end of summer semester. Students who give sufficient explanation why they could not take the test on regular date will take the test on date of 1st correction test. Third correction will be on day of alternative practical exam (see Practical Exam) in the form of oral exam by a commission. In order to receive a credit, student must score at least "good" in all tests. Basic knowledge of recording and evaluation of ECG will be tested too (general medicine students). In order to receive a credit, student must score at least „good“ in this test. The same rules mentioned above are applied for this test.
Notice for practical and final orgal examination
A. Practical exam – only General Medicine: In the final laboratory class of the summer term students will undertake a practical laboratory exam.
Friday 29. 5. 2020 8.00 General Medicine - 7th group 9.30 General Medicine - 8th group Monday 1. 6. 2020 11.20 Alternative practical examination
For admission to the practical exam student must have a credit in both winter and summer term. Absence on the practical exam is possible only due to illness or very exceptional circumstances. Then alternative date of the practical exam will be allowed (not more than two). The alternative date is also for students who cannot receive a credit in time. Third correction oral examination will be on day of alternative practical exam. When undertaking the laboratory exam the student must present the records and data from all the practical classes attended. At the beginning of practical exam, students draw a question that will be one of the practical classes that the student has undertaken during the entire physiology course. In addition to demonstrating this practical technique(s) student will be expected to understand the background information which formed part of the original laboratory practical exercise. If the student fails this practical laboratory exercise no retake is available and the "fail" result will be recorded. In the overall grade awarded in the final examinations, a fail recorded in the practical exam will be taken into account and could result in failing the course as a whole.
B. Final exam For admission to final exam students must receive credits in both winter and summer terms, complete practical exam (General Medicine) and sign up for final exam (SIS system). Students are allowed to sign up only for a single date. Registration and re-registration can be done only through SIS. Another form (e-mail, phone) will not be considered. If a student fails to appear for an exam on the enrolled date without duly excusing in advance (e-mail to fyziols@lfhk.cuni.cz), s/he will not be graded and the exam date will expire. Exam registration will open 12. 5. 2020 at 7 p.m. The total number of students is considered when announcing the dates of exam. Dates for the 1st or 2nd retake will be announced with regard to the current requirements. The final exam begins at 7 a.m. (or at time specified in SIS). The exam comprises an introductory written test, and then oral exam follows. Re-examinations comprise only the oral part. Use of electronic devices, unauthorized materials or communication with other students are strictly prohibited. After drawing final exam questions it is not allowed to leave the room and when necessary an escort will be provided. In case of failure to comply with these rules, students will be classified “failed“. Moreover, a complaint will be submitted to the Disciplinary Committee of the Faculty for fraudulent behaviour.
